1. London Zoo Tickets from £31pp

London Zoo have a range of ticket options available from just £31 an adult/£21.70 a child when you book online in advance.  Prices vary depending upon whether you are visiting at the the weekend or during the week with discounts available for children (3-15 years), seniors (65+), students & customers with disabilities. Visitors with a registered disability are entitled to bring an essential carer into the zoo for free.  Worth noting that, during the online booking process, you have the option to add a donation to your transaction – simple add or ignore, the choice is yours.

2. London Zoo; Free Child or Adult Place

Here’s a great FREE child or adult promotion for London Zoo that is available to those that travel by train.  Guests must pre-book their tickets online through a specific booking line to take advantage of this offer and present with valid train tickets on the day of your visit.  More information available at London Zoo 2 for 1 Voucher.

3. London Zoo; Universal Credit Tickets from £3pp

Low income families can pick up tickets to London Zoo from just £3pp. This discounted ticket offer is only available to those on select benefits where households can book tickets for up to 6 people per household.  You must book in advance with this offer, (not available at the gate), where you will need to provide documentation on the gate.   More information available at London Zoo; Universal Credit Tickets from £3pp.

4. Zoo Membership

Zoo membership offers great value for money by providing 12 months entry to both London & Whipsnade Zoo.  Gold membership comes with a host of additional perks that are worth looking out for including parking perks & discounts on retail and food outlets.  Silver membership provides free entry to both attractions at a cheaper price but without any perks.

5. London Zoo; Blue Peter Badgeholder

Valid Blue Peter Badgeholders can pick up FREE entry to London Zoo when accompanied by a full paying adult.  Children age 6-15 years that present a valid badge & badge winner’s card at the gate will be given free entry when accompanied by a full paying adult.  This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other concessionary entrance offer and one full paying adult will be required for each qualifying child. 6. London Zoo; Community Access Scheme

London Zoo is running a popular community access scheme that offers discounted London Zoo tickets for low income households tickets.  The Community Access scheme provides discounted tickets to low income families, refugees, people with additional needs or disabilities and people over the age of 60 and may be at risk of isolation. The scheme is currently open to people living in Greater London with more information available at London Zoo; Community Access Scheme.

7. London Zoo & Voluntary Donations

Worth noting that, during the booking process, you’ll see that there are options to add a small donation to your entry fee for conservation work.  Should you prefer, simply select the ‘without donation’ option when making your purchase. Whilst this donation does go towards vital conservation work, ultimately the choice is yours to make.

Top Tips for London Zoo

1. Pack A Picnic

Picnics are welcome at London Zoo and offers an easy way to make some savings on a day out.  We found plenty of picnic spots available throughout the setting and there are now on-site lockers available to hire for an additional cost.  More information available at London Zoo – Picnics.

2. Plan Your Day

There are plenty of daily events running at London Zoo that can enhance your visit including the popular Penguin Beach Live and feeding time with the Otters.  Worth planning ahead to see what is running during your visit to get the most from your day.

3. Zoo Membership

Membership offers 12 months entry to London & Whipsnade Zoo that includes great parking perks too.  If you purchase membership by direct debit, you can also secure a 20% discount off standard prices.

Fast Track Entrance, (not currently running)

For those looking to bypass the queues that quickly build at the main entrance during busy times, it can be worth upgrading to Fast Track Entrance that offers a separate entrance straight into the zoo. This entrance is available up to 2pm each day and brings you into the zoo by the penguin enclosure.

Previously we’ve seen that you can redeem clubcard vouchers towards your entrance charges at London Zoo.  Whilst this offer is not currently running, this can offers value for money for regular Tesco shoppers but remember to redeem voucher in advance of your visit.   Whilst you cannot use clubcard tokens against membership, any topped up cash can subsequently be refunded for those opt to upgrade.

2. Picnics; are welcome at London and an easy way to keep the costs down on a day out at the zoo. Whilst there are no lockers or storage facilities available at the zoo, there are plenty of picnic spots to be found across the setting.

3. Zoo Membership; take advantage of annual membership that offers unlimited entry to both London Zoo & Whipsnade Zoo throughout the year that comes with a host of additional benefits too.

4. Scooters; whilst bikes & roller blades are not allowed at London Zoo, you’ll see plenty of children on scooters. This is a great way to help younger visitors explore the zoo without any complaints about walking!

5. Smile Please? No Thanks; there is the inevitable photo opportunity as you arrive at the main entrance to the zoo.  This can be a bone of contention, particularly with children in tow, so I always side-step this issue by opting not to pose in the first place.

6. Enjoy the Show; to get the most from your day, check out the full list of events running on the day of your visit.  There are always plenty to choose from so worth planning ahead to avoid a frantic dash from one side of the zoo to another.

7. Parking; there is limited London Zoo Parking available close to the main entrance with free parking options available for Zoo gold members during off peak times.

Meet the Monkeys; is an animal encounter experience that allows you to get up close to the monkeys without any bars, cages or barriers between you & the monkeys.

Reptile House; did you know that the reptile house, (more specifically the python), featured within the Harry Potter films?   Have a peek & see if you recognise it.

In with the Lemurs; this walk-through experience allows you to get up close & personal with the resident Lemurs.

Sunset Safari; look out for late night openings at London Zoo during June & July that can offer value for money. More details as they emerge on these events later in the year.

A Room with a Zoo; ultimate fans will soon be able stay on-site at London Zoo within the Gir Lion Lodges that are ideally set within roaring distance of the lions!
