Set to open on 16 March 2024, Nemesis Reborn has undertaken a period of renovations including a new rebrand of the beast which gives the ride its name. The beast’s eye, ringed by razor-sharp teeth, is brought to life through state-of-the-art visual technology with new immersive elements that will propel visitors into this latest theming as they enter Forbidden Valley. The back story suggests that whilst the beast has been imprisoned underground for much of the past 30 years, it is now free and out to wreak vengeance!

Nemesis started its life at the park back in 1994 where it was billed at the time as ‘Europe’s first ever inverted rollercoaster’ and has remained popular with theme park visitors over its 30 year history.  Built at a cost of £10 million, this star attraction travels at speeds of up to 50mph and offers a G-force of 3.5, where its journey takes in a record four inversions that has thrilled visitors over the years.  Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, Nemesis has always been popular with theme park fans to the extent it has been ridden over 50 million times before it was taken out of circulation last year.

During the past year, the entire 250-tonne, 716 metre-long track has been replaced and the new rebrand includes an update to the mythical Nemesis beast.  The track itself has changed in colour to black, with a blood-red motif painted down the site, that links nicely into the new rebranding. Whilst the track has been completely replaced, we’re pleased to hear that parts from the old carriages have been recycled into the new design keeping an element of continuity through the transition.

Project Manager Dave Taylor has given a further glimpse into what to expect when he recently commented ‘we’ve made some advancements in the running rails, we’ve quieted the runner rail down, so there’d be a smoother experience through there, but as we’ve seen, the roar is definitely still there.’  Great to hear that Nemesis Reborn will be open from Saturday 16 March which will be the first day of the 2024 theme park season.

We’re also hearing that there is to be another NEW attraction joining the line-up in Forbidden Valley in future theme park seasons.  Currently known only as Project Ocean at Alton Towers, we understand planning proposals have already been submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council for approval.
