Battersea Power Station; The Chimney Lift
Lift 109 offers you the chance to travel through one of the iconic chimneys at Battersea Power Station to enjoy views over London. A glass elevator takes you 109 metres up, through the Power Station’s north-west chimney, where you quite literally pop out the top. From here you can access 360-degree views over London, including the Houses of Parliament, London Eye & Wimbledon’s Centre Court!
There are plenty of ways to enjoy views over the city’s skyline, but for those looking for something unusual, this fits the bill!

For those interested in the history, workings & architecture of this iconic building, it’s worth considering an official guided tour. This Grade II* listed building has a powerful backstory that is brought to life by knowledgeable guides during 75-minute tours. Having once managed the distribution of electricity across London, the added bonus with the tour is that it gives you exclusive access to Control Room A.
Not usually open to the public, Control Room A is an Art Deco masterpiece & a sight to behold. Comprising teak parquet floors, marble finishes, gold-coffered ceilings, restored control panels & switchboards, simply soak up the splendor of your surroundings.
Running on selected dates throughout the year, tickets for the guided tours are released 4 weeks in advance.

There are plenty of London hotels boasting stunning views over the city, but they do come with a matching price tag. If money is no object, then one such option is the high-end Art’otel Battersea that offers stunning views across to the Power Station. Although their infinity pool is billed as exclusive space for hotel guests, there is another way to enjoy the space by signing up for an aqua class for just a few £’s.

Battersea Power Station & Thames Clipper
For those planning to visit Battersea Power Station, consider taking the river boat service along the River Thames. The Thames Clipper is a stop-on-stop-off service that provides great flexibility for any visit to London. By combining sightseeing with a mode of transport, it’s a great way to enjoy the relative peace of water transport away from the crowds. Simply disembark at Battersea Power Station Pier that sits directly in front of the building.
Whilst there isn’t any commentary during your trip, if you know your sights of London, then it remains a cost-effective option.
