Art Galleries, (UK)

Think out the box and consider planning a visit to a local art gallery during the heatwave.  Works of art need to be preserved in climate controlled environments that makes a visit more manageable during the hotter weather. Major National Galleries remain free of charge to visit, (donations welcome), so can be a cheap option for a day out this summer. 1. Often both adults & kids will require swimming wear to use the facilities, including swimming pants for little ones.

2. Children below a certain height/age restrictions will need to be accompanied by an adult.

3. Waterparks usually run on strict adult/child ratios so worth checking out requirements before you visit.

4. Yes, they are going to busy in the hot weather.  If you can be flexible when you visit, try either first thing or later in the day as crowds will generally build from 11am onwards.

5. Parks such as Alton Towers Waterpark often run on a split shift during busy times so worth ensuring you gain full value for your ticket.
