With dates available from August 2026, this offers you a spectacular night backdrop over the city plus a chance to dance away the evening to the music of your choice.

The Silent Disco at The Shard allows you the chance to dance away the night at this popular London visitor attraction. On arrival, you are handed headsets for the evening, from which to choose your own personal soundtrack where the days of waiting for the DJ to play your genre of music are seemingly long gone.

3 live DJ sets, positioned side-by-side on level 69, offer a range of music from 3 different genres. Guests can switch between DJ’s by simply moving between channels to dance away against the backdrop of the city skyline. Woe betide anyone who attempts to remove their headset, as you’ll quickly be confronted with the cat-howling sound of hundreds of guests ‘singing’ along to the music – not a pleasant experience! Even the bar staff keep their headsets firmly in place between orders.

The Silent Disco at The Shard; ‘Dolly’s on Blue’

The stroke of genius with a silent disco is that your headset lights up to indicate the channel you are listening to.  You’ll quickly see a wave of red, blue or green light up upon the dance floor as a well-loved tune goes viral. I had to laugh when a bearded middle-aged gentleman excitedly pointed to his headphones & mouthing to his mate that ‘Dolly’s [Parton] on blue’. We of course quickly moved channels to enjoy a blast of 9 to 5.

In fact the beauty of the Silent Disco is that you’ll quickly get drawn into the spirit of the night.  With conversation firmly out of the equation (a cacophony of howling in the background doesn’t encourage discussion on world events), coupled with a decidedly lack of available seating leaves little choice but to join in the dancing. It might not be the trendiest nightspot in London but as you look around the venue you can see that no one is passing up the opportunity for a good old-fashioned boogie on the dance floor.

The unique selling point of a silent disco at The View from The Shard is the magnificent backdrop to your dancing venue. Previously known as the tallest building in Western Europe, The Shard offers panoramic views over the London skyline. Almost twice as high as any other vantage point in the city, your view can reach a distance of 40 miles, taking in many of London’s famous landmarks including the London Eye, Tower of London & Houses of Parliament.

As with day entry admission tickets, the silent disco offers you access to both the indoor platforms on level 68 & 69 as well as the Skydeck on level 72.  With the lights dimmed & DJs on site, the lower level gives you more of a traditional disco floor vibe.  However, we were drawn to the Skydeck, where you are open to the elements as you danced away to your favourite tunes.  With nothing between you and the night sky & the wind swirling around as you danced, it was a truly exhilarating experience.  Even more so when it started to rain, and whilst I had to admire those that brought umbrellas along, it simply amplified the experience for those less well equipped.

Silent Discos are now available to book, with events taking place on 24 October, 21 November & 5 December 2026. Tickets include access to The View from The Shard on levels 68,69 & the Skydeck, plus headsets and DJs’ sets – all you need to bring along is your dancing shoes and possibly an umbrella!
