Somehow I forgot to factor in the weather on our London to Paris ride.
I think I’d been so busy remaining upright on my bike, (following a previous incident that left me with a hospital visit & mild concussion), that poor weather paled into insignificance….at the time!

Spring forward to day 4 of our Avenue Verte route and we wake to rain that is unlikely to clear all day. Suddenly 36 miles on a bike seems rather daunting.
Dieppe to Forges Les Eaux should have offered the easiest 30 miles of our journey; 30 miles of flat tarmac all on a separate cycle path. We have plenty of UK country roads that haven’t been maintained to the level of this cycle path.
How different things could have been! However it was one of those days that we wrapped up, head down & cycled like the clappers!
