Today’s course from Forges Les Euax to Gisors takes us over 35 tranquil miles of French countryside. The weather has cleared & suddenly we’ve arrived in the France I know & love.

As we join country lanes, we meander our way through sleepy French villages, fields ablaze with colour, the sun on our faces. Whilst we share the lanes with other road users today, there is very little traffic throughout our course. We do seem to have found our cycle legs today as the miles seem to speed by…or perhaps it’s just being dry!

We stopped off for a bite to eat half way round. We had, of course, forgotten that village life closes for lunch in France so we make do with croissants & cakes as the bakery is the only shop open…for once, I’m not complaining!

Our hotel tonight, Hotel St Denis, conveniently lies upon the Avenue Verte route so no extra miles for us. Our hosts for the night are very warm & welcoming and we quickly find we’re not the only cyclists to make use of accommodation en route.

Avenue Verte….I’m starting to enjoy this!
