Billed as the tallest & fastest coaster in the UK, Hyperia will be opening at Thorpe Park on 24 May 2024 & bound to be a popular attraction this theme park season. Thorpe Park Hyperia
Thorpe Park Hyperia; Opening 24 May 2024
Opening on 24 May 2024, Hyperia will become the UK’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster hitting speeds of over 80mph. Topping the current tallest coaster record currently held by Blackpool Pleasure Beach since 1994, Hyperia will offer a unique experience for theme park guests with a head for heights. Sitting a mighty 10 metres taller than Stealth, Hyperia will stand out at the park where ‘visitors will be transported from the station structure around new track over water in an exhilarating experience.’
Previously known as Project Exodus, Hyperia gained its name earlier this year where know that the ride will be partly positioned over water, with some sections looping at 43 and 50m, for added thrills. Located upon the former Old Town Area, (remember Loggers Leap), Thorpe Park have released further details indicating that visitors will ‘soar along 995m of twisted track and experience weightlessness like never before.’
There’s also news on the height restriction of just 1.3 metres for Hyperia rather than the standard 1.4m that sits for many of the other thrill coasters at the park so that’s good news for eager young guests to the park.
Other developments at the park for 2024 is that the Black Mirror Labyrinth won’t be returning this theme park season and Slammer is finally to be dismantled this year having closed since 2017.
