£250m Waterpark To Be Built In Manchester

With 25 swimming pools, 35 water slides plus 30 saunas and steam rooms, this latest development for Manchester is chomping at the bit to be the UK’s largest waterpark!  Currently Sandcastle Waterpark in Blackpool holds the title for the biggest UK indoor water park but this new £250million creation will top the bill in due course.

Work has already begun on Therme Manchester, a 28-acre park that is to be located next to the Trafford Centre in Manchester, and plans to open its doors in 2025, (more details below).

With a wellness centre already in place in Bucharest, Theme Manchester is expected to be twice the size of its sister attraction & there’s more indoor spa complexes planned for the UK in the coming years.  Expected to accommodate up to 20,000 visitors a day, this huge waterpark & spa will be surrounded by real tropical palm trees & foliage to give the feel of an ‘urban oasis’ with temperatures set a constant 30C temperature range.

They’ll be plenty to keep you entertained too with spa treatments, regular fitness classes, a huge cocktail bar, swim up bars, water lagoons and even an all season indoor beach!  Kids can enjoy the dedicated family zone complete with splash parks & wave machine but watch out for the ‘living slide’ – a slide covered in plants for the fully immersive experience!  For those preferring to connect with nature, then a stroll around the 2 acre well-being garden might be in order.

Theme Manchester is to be housed under giant glass domes, where the plans include beehives on the rooftop to encourage biodiversity; honey from the hives will be used in both spa treatments and restaurant dishes no less!
