April 19th, 20162025 update; sad to learn that the London Paramount Entertain Resort planned for Kent will now longer being going ahead.
London Paramount Entertainment Resort
A £2 billion entertainment project is set to go ahead with the likes of Paramount Pictures & BBC Worldwide having already signed up to provide the backdrop for this new venture. To be located within a 900 acre former cement works in Kent, this new entertainment complex will include a Water Park, Theme Park, live music venue, cinema complex & 5000 hotel rooms.
Set to attract around 50,000 visitors a day it looks likely to rival Disneyland Paris in scale and could be open as soon as 2021. Whilst there have been delays within the planning application process, plans are now afoot to start construction on the project from 2018, (subject to a successful planning application that is to be submitted next year).

In a resort set to rival Disneyland Paris, this complex will be located next to Ebbsfleet International Station on the London to Paris Eurostar route. The proposed 388 acre brownfield site is just 17 minutes from London St Pancras & 2 hours away from Paris and thus offering great transport links both within the UK and through to mainland Europe.
With 70% of the park undercover, the great advantage over other UK theme parks is that it can cope with changeable weather!
London Paramount Entertainment Resort; Themed Attractions
Developers have already been granted a licence from film giant Paramount Pictures to use its name within their title with BBC Worldwide, (the commercial arm of the BBC), the latest corporation to come on board. Whilst Paramount & BBC Worldwide are remaining tight lipped as to the exact nature of these partnerships, we could be seeing themed attractions around popular films and tv programmes such as Star Trek, Mission; Impossible, Dr Who, Top Gear, In The Night Garden or even Sherlock Holmes.
Paramount Entertainment Park Set To Open In Spain
A similar Paramount entertainment park set to open in Spain & will feature a Titanic Experience, (not a fan myself of using human tragedy for entertainment purposes), plus rides based on Mission Impossible, Star Trek and War of the Worlds.

The London Paramount Entertainment Resort hopes to attract 1o million visitors in its first year and plans to open 2021. With 50 rides & attractions planned & the building of the largest water park in Europe, we’ll be interested to see how plans develop over the coming years.
