Drayton Manor’s latest attraction for Thomas Land 2017 is now open! James & the Red Balloon joins 19 other themed rides & attractions within Thomas Land and is going down a treat with young families. We popped along recently to take a look at this latest expansion to the park, (more details below).

James & the Red Balloon; NEW Ride For Thomas Land
Thomas Land first opened back in 2008 offering a range of themed rides & attractions around the lovable Thomas & his engine friends. Following a recent £2.5 million expansion, James & the Red Balloon ride is the latest attraction available for Thomas Land fans to enjoy at the park. With eight gondolas now in place on the ride, each capsule holds up to 4 children or 2 adults & 1 child, with a total a capacity of up to 500 riders per hour.
Built at a cost of £250,000, this latest addition offers young theme park riders & guests a chance to reach the lofty heights of 1.5m and speeds of 5.5rpm. With views across the park from the top of the ride, guests have a great opportunity to review their surroundings and decide what’s next on the agenda at Drayton Manor.
