Look out for Galactica the new ride experience opening at Alton Towers in April 2016. Whilst this is in fact a revamped Air located over in Forbidden Valley, the interesting development is that it will include the use of virtual reality headsets for that added dimension. Alton Towers have also recently announced that The Smiler is set to re-open on the first day of season on 18 March 2016.
Worth keeping a look out for the NEW Rollercoaster Restaurant if you fancy your food arriving via a miniature coaster but the sad news is that the Log Flume at Alton Towers will no longer be running!

Thorpe Park 2016
Thorpe park have now confirmed that Derren Brown’s Ghost Train will open on 6 May 2016. This ‘fully immersive individual experience’ complete with VR headsets has the added bonus of offering 12 different journeys & 2 possible endings! This combination will always have you wanting more of the the world’s first ‘mind-bending’ ghost train.

LEGOLAND Windsor 2016
Just launched for 2016, LEGOLAND Windsor & LEGOLAND Discovery Centre have created a new LEGO 4D Movie that’s available to watch at either setting during the 2016. Emmet & the gang return with a new adventure in this 12 minute movie that will run at regular intervals throughout the day. Complete with all the 4D components we’ve grown to love including wind, water, fog, lighting & other special effects that help bring the performance alive.
Glamping Opens at Chessington World of Adventures
Look out for the latest craze to hit Chessington World of Adventures and enjoy a spot of Glamping this season. Situated next to Wild Asia, you’ll have the animals for neighbours and a touch of luxury with each standard tent comprising of 1 double bed & 2 single beds offering a comfortable stay under the canvas. Packages include breakfast and use of all the leisure facilities located within the hotels.

SFEAR at Gulliver’s Land
Gulliver’s Land launched SFEAR during 2015 that offers an indoor climbing experience for older children & adults. We popped along recently to test out SFEAR that works as an add-on to Gulliver’s Theme Park or as a stand-alone attraction. The great advantage with this indoor aerial assault course is that you are not reliant upon the great British weather!

Drayton Manor 2016
Look out for the new Tamarin Trail that offers visitors a chance to come face to face with a range of monkeys housed in 8 different enclosures as you make your way around the planted gardens, (opening Easter). Later in the season a new high ropes attraction, Vertigo is set to open too.
Drayton Manor completed a £2.5 million expansion to Thomas Land during 2015 that included 3 new Thomas-themed rides & a new bandstand for live performances. This increased the size of the ever-popular Thomas Land by 40% and has gone down a treat with young families. This expansion has helped Drayton Manor remain an all-rounder theme park that works well for children & adults alike.
