Alton Towers Nemesis Closed for 2023

Alton Towers announced late last season that Nemesis will be closing for renovation work to be undertaken during the 2023 theme park season. Thankfully the good news is that it will be welcomed back  in 2024. Billed at the time as ‘Europe’s first ever inverted rollercoaster’ Nemesis opened back in 1994 and has remained popular with theme park visits ever since.  Built at a cost of £10 million, this star attraction travels at speeds of up to 50mph with its journey taking in a record four inversions that has thrilled visitors over the years – it has been ridden over 50 million times!

Interestingly Alton Towers have since made the decision to Re-Open Nemesis Sub-Terra this season that remains situated next to this iconic ride so you’ll have a prime position to see the latest developments including new track.  We’re told that up to 30 Nemesis fans at a time can watch the transformation taking place via a special viewing platform located next to Nemesis Sub-Terra overlooking the latest developments so something to look out for.

Alton Towers; Duel/The Curse of Alton Manor

Whilst the Alton Towers Haunted House; Duel also closed back in 2022, a new attraction The Curse of Alton Manor has already taken its place and back up in operation for 2023.  Duel first opened back in 1992billed as the largest ghost train in Europe and was subsequently revamped back in 2003.
