Free Bike Workshops at Halfords

Free Halfords Bike Workshops; Tried & Tested

Please note that the review below relates to the Halford Basic Bike Workshop.

Here’s a great way for children to pick up new skills as they learn about how to take care of their bikes…all for free!  For the past few months Halfords have been offering FREE BASIC bike workshops for children during the school holidays so we thought we’d pop along to check them out.

Halfords Free Bike Workshops; Logistics

These workshops are available for children between the age of 7 & 11 years.  Whilst the workshops are free to attend, you do need to pre-book your session as spaces are limited.  The workshops last for around an hour and you will need to supervise your children throughout the session.

Workshops are available at a good number of the Halfords stores, (plug in your postcode onto the site & you’ll be provided with session details for your local area).

The good news is you do NOT need to take along a bike – all equipment, including a bike to work upon, is provided.

Free Bike Workshop; The Best Bits

1. A chance to pick up some useful bike maintenance tips such as how to repair a puncture, how to put a bike chain back onto a bike & how to undertake a quick maintenance check.

2. Numbers were low in our session so all the children had a go at the tasks in hand, (however we were told that this isn’t always the case when numbers are higher).

3. You will receive a FREE goodie bag before you leave, (pictured above), that includes items such as a puncture repair kit, a bike tool & even a money off voucher for use in store.

4. Children leave with a better understanding of how to care for their bike; a handy life skill!

Free Bike Workshops; Our Verdict?

Whilst our session was very hands on, you may experience a less practical session in larger groups.  However, this is an opportunity for children to pick up some handy bike tips for FREE so that’s got to be a good thing!
