Insider’s Guide to the Eden Project

1. The Eden Project; Fastrack Entrance

When searching for Eden Project Cheap Ticket Deals look out for the FASTRACK entrance perk for those that book online at the Eden Project, (currently all tickets need to be booked in advance).  This allows you to bypass the queues that build at the ticket kiosks on busy days plus tickets purchased online also come with savings off standard price tickets too.  During peak times, fastrack entrance is available for online bookings as well as annual pass ticket holders – simply look out for the fastrack kiosks as you enter the visitor centre.

2. The Eden Project; Free Annual Pass Upgrades

Save some money throughout the year with a FREE annual pass upgrade when you purchase a day ticket to the Eden Project. Simply donate your admission charges & they will reward you with a free annual upgrade that offers unlimited return visits. Plenty do take advantage of this offer but it does cause delays at the ticket kiosks as visitors opt to upgrade their day tickets so be ahead of the queues by booking online.

3. The Eden Project; Early Bird

The Eden Project is not the easiest place to find and parking can be some way from the entrance.  Always worth setting off early to ensure you are parked up, with tickets at the ready, for the moment the attraction opens for the day.  Generally both the shop & cafe are open before the general opening time for those early birds and an easy way to bypass the queues that build at the ticket kiosks on busy days.

For more cheap ticket options check out our Eden Project Deals that sets out the latest promotions, vouchers & offers running for this top attraction in Cornwall.

4. The Eden Project; Late Entrance Tickets

Worth knowing that in previous years the Eden Project has run a late entrance ticket during summer peak times.  This not only offers a cheaper ticket price option but also has the added advantage of avoiding the queues that build at the kiosks during the early part of the day.

5. The Eden Project; Land Train

Where possible head down to the biomes by foot as queues build quickly for the land train & it’s not actually that far!  Opt for a lift back up to the top at the end of the day when queues are shorter.

6. The Eden Project; Domes First

Worth heading straight over to the Rainforest & Mediterranean domes first before temperatures begin to soar.   If you have managed to arrive early and opted to walk down, then you will be ahead of the crowds as you explore the biomes in relatively peaceful surroundings.

7. Rainforest Lookout

The Rainforest Lookout is a platform suspended 50 metres above the rainforest biome & offers fantastic views from above.  However opening is subject to temperature controls so worth checking with staff placed at the link information kiosk before you enter the dome to help plan your day.  Rule of thumb is the early the better with this option.

8. The Eden Project; Picnics

Whilst there are plenty of places to eat, picnics are welcome at the Eden Project with a plethora of alfresco spots around the attraction.  There are lockers available at the Eden Project, (refundable £1 coin required), but as they are located close to the entrance visitor centre they are not very handily placed for those with picnics. Whilst there is a cloakroom located within the link area, it is restricted to clothing so you may need to carry your lunch with you.

9. The Eden Project; On-Site Accommodation

Extend your break and stay over at either the YHA Snoozebox Hostel or YHA Campsite that are both located on-site.  This is a great way to enjoy a short break on a budget that allows you to see more within your time at the Eden Project.

10. The Eden Project; Parking

Good to see that parking remains free of charge at the Eden Project.  You can either pick up the free park & ride bus or opt to walk down to the entrance building.  Just remember to keep a note of the area in which you have parked your car.

A Few Top Tips for the Eden Project

1. Make use of the free cloakroom, located with the link building, to avoid carrying unnecessary clothing around the biomes.

2. Carry a bottle of water around with you whilst exploring the Rainforest & Mediterranean biomes to keep hydrated.  There are  water fountains within the biomes but are not always easy to spot!

3. Take a breather in the air conditioned cool room close to the rainforest canopy, (Rainforest Biome).

4. Comfortable shoes are essential for a day out at the Eden Project as the attraction is set out over a vast area.

5. Dogs are allowed on the outdoor paths at the Eden Project, (assistance dogs only in the domes).  There are a limited number of shaded parking shelters within the car parks.

6. Thrill seekers can access the Skywire, Giant Swing & The Drop without having to purchase entrance tickets to the Eden Project.  These activities are run by Hangloose Adventures with separate charges in place.
