Insider’s Guide To Legoland Discovery Centre

Tips to Beat the Queues at Legoland Discovery Centre

1. The Early Bird

Opt to arrive about 30 minutes before the attraction opens & ensure you are in the right queue.  The biggest bottle neck at Legoland Discovery Centre is as you arrive; queuing for tickets, accessing the lift to the attraction and making your way through the factory tour.

2. Avoid the Factory Tour

Once inside the attraction & you have taken the lift to the first floor, you will be herded along to the factory tour.  This 5 minute show is primarily aimed at young children and, (in our book), adds very little value to your visit.  You can avoid the factory tour – just ask staff on hand to direct you.

3. Turn Left & Keep Going

As you exit from the factory tour, avoid being directed off to the Kingdom Quest ride, (you can do this later in the day), instead turn left into the main arena, signposted ‘Miniland’. This gives you free range to the busiest areas of the attraction before the queues arrive!

4. Head Straight

Miniland never becomes too busy so go straight to the areas where the queues build quickly; Merlin’s Apprentice, Lego City Forest Pursuit Ride, Kingdom Quest Laser Ride & Lego Racers.

5. Save For Later

Remember the good capacity areas such as the 4D Cinema, Miniland, Fire Academy, Duplo Village & Lego Friends can all be undertaken later in your visit as the numbers build.  Whilst the Master Model Builder Workshops only has a capacity for 15 at any one time, it does run every half an hour during peak times, so you shouldn’t have to wait too long for a go.

Money Saving Tips for Legoland Discovery Centre

1. Whist picnics aren’t actively encouraged, we weren’t the only ones tucking into a home made sandwich. There are tables by the cafe or try the waiting area outside the Lego Studios if you don’t mind the floor.

2. Children’s lunch boxes are reasonably priced & come with a 20% discount for those with an annual pass. The great thing is the cafe is central to the attraction so you can catch a coffee and keep an eye on the kids at the same time!

3. Passholders can take advantage of 20% discounts at the onsite cafe & 10% discount in the shop.

4. Legoland Discovery Centre is set within the Trafford Centre & is billed as a half day experience.  Combine it with a trip to Sea Life Manchester or get some shopping done.

5. You can pick up discounted combined tickets for the Legoland Discovery Centre & Manchester Sea Life, (seasonal).
