High Hotels to Budget Breaks; What’s In It For You?
October 7th, 2016A Receptacle To Rest My Bones
Often, when I’m planning a few days away, I spend the least amount of time considering the hotel. Find it, book it & move straight on to more interesting deliberations such as how to cram as much as is humanly possible into a short break. For me, a hotel is simply a receptacle in which to rest my bones between flights of fancy.
Hotel Accommodation; Basic or Frills?
My hotel requirements are simple. Clean? Absolutely! Breakfast – a bonus, (but only then if there is a deal to be had). Location? Well if there are substantial savings to be made setting up some distance away, I’m amenable to a journey of some length. Facilities? Apart from a comfortable bed & manageable wifi, facilities are frankly a waste of time for me.
So as a budget traveller Travelodge with their ‘no-frills’ basic accommodation & a price to match is a great combination. The other great advantage with a Travelodge – Children under 16 Stay FREE of Charge when you book a family room & for double deals kids eat FREE too when you opt for breakfast!
We’ve stayed in a number of Travelodges over the years, (my latest foray was a stop off at the Leeds/Bradford Airport Travelodge – not that I was leaving the country mind – but on my way to Lightwater Valley Theme Park & found a price worth travelling for), and have to say we haven’t been disappointed.
