Colliery Tours at Snibston
An absolute must is the colliery tour at Snibston. This guided tour around the old colliery buildings by former miners, is a fantastic experience for young & old alike. The guides bring the colliery to life once more with their tales of old & have an amazing ability to engage with young children.
On our recent visit to Snibston, we took three children, (aged between 7 &12 years), around the tour and they all came away inspired from the experience….and learnt a thing or too as well.
Whilst there is a small additional charge for the colliery tour, it’s certainly well worth it.
Please note that this colliery tour does not go underground. Tours are generally available weekends & during the school holidays but wise to check before you set out.
