National Football Museum; On A Budget

1. Whilst there are suggested admission charges set out by the main entrance, you are free to enter without charge should you wish.

2. Entrance maybe free but, particularly if you are visiting with children, there are plenty of additional charge activities available that will quickly mount up.  Might be worth setting a budget at this attraction and keeping to it!

3. With the additional spend activities, you have the option of purchasing ‘credits’ on a pay by activity basis or bulk buy a Football Plus+ family ticket that comes at a discounted price.

4. Ask at reception as you arrive what discounts are currently available with vend spend…during our recent visit, we were told that with any 1 credit spend, we could receive a FREE vend Commentary Challenge.

5. The most popular, (and most expensive), additional spend activity is the Penalty Shoot Out located on Level 2.  As the penalty shoot out offers 3 shots per vend, why not split this between 3 children/adults…each having one go each.  Worth noting that each person will receive a certificate to download online thus offering a much cheaper option.

6. It is really worth considering value for money with a number of these additional spend activities…many of these activities last no longer than a couple of minutes so you can quite easily spend a considerable amount of money in a short space of time.

7. During peak times, it can be worth checking out if any additional vend credit offers are running either in The Metro or through Visit Manchester.

1. Lockers are available on site, (£1 non-refundable), located next to the gift shop on the ground floor.

2. There is a limited but unusual range of play equipment located to the side of the Urbis building that younger children will enjoy…even if you just want a break away from the shopping!

3. Check out the viewing area on level 4; whilst your view is mostly restricted to Manchester rooftops, it’s an interesting perspective…and FREE!

4. Close by to the National Football Museum you will also find Chetham’s Library & School of Music that is definitely worth a visit.

Top Dog’s Verdict
