Whether you are looking to visit the Alton Towers Waterpark as an add-on to your theme park trip or as a day out in its own right, follow our 10 top tips below to help you make the most of your visit.

1. Cheap Tickets for Alton Towers Waterpark

We’ve found a nifty trick for those planning to visit both the theme park & waterpark that offers discounted entry to both settings plus plenty of other cheap ticket options that can save you money.  More information is available at Alton Towers Waterpark Deals.

2. Alton Towers Waterpark; Ratios

Strict adult to child ratios are in place at the waterpark so worth understanding before you set out.  For every child age 4 years & under within your party, 1 person over the age of 16 years must accompany them.  For every 2 children, (age between 5 & 9 years), in your party, 1 person over the age of 16 years must accompany them. Ratios are subject to change.

Save up to £20pp when you book online at Alton Towers Tickets that includes EARLY ACCESS to select rides & attractions!

3. Alton Towers Waterpark; Lockers

You’ll find plenty of lockers available within the changing area to store your belongings.  A 20p coin is required for each locker at the waterpark, (refundable).

4. Alton Towers Waterpark; Spectators

For children that are old enough to be left to their own devices, (taking into account strict adult to child ratios), there is a reduced price spectator charge available at the park.  This allows you access into the pool area without having to enter the water.  Please note that it can get very warm inside the pool area, so be worth thinking about your attire even if it’s freezing outside.

5. Alton Towers Waterpark; Parking

Good to know that there are  no car parking charges in place for waterpark customers.  Check with the staff on the day to see how you can pick up free parking on the day of your visit.

6. Alton Towers Waterpark; Timed Tickets

During peak times at the waterpark, Alton Towers introduce a set timed ticket session.  This tends to run during the peak summer season to ease capacity restrictions at the park so look out for any timed restrictions when booking your visit.

Look out for the Alton Towers Short Break Package that includes overnight accommodation, Alton Towers tickets x 4 plus family entry to 2 other attraction for £235 a family, (includes theme park entry rather than waterpark).

8. Alton Towers Waterpark; Toddlers

Look out for the great value toddler ticket that is available at the waterpark that tends to run during term time.  Good to know that the waterpark also offers a free swim nappy for those that forget, (available from reception). Find out more details about the toddler ticket within our Alton Towers Waterpark Deals.

9. Alton Towers Waterpark; Towels

Whilst there is a towel hire option available at the park, there is an additional charge in place for this service so best to bring your own.

10. Alton Towers Waterpark;  Classes

Look out for Waterbabies that offers a baby swim school for children age 12 weeks to 3 years old.  Alternatively you can sign up for National Lifeguard Courses at the waterpark that is available for those age 16 years & over.  Additional charges apply.
