Oblivion at Alton Towers

1. Alton Towers Tips; Get There Early

No point rolling in at 11am, be at the gates ready to go as the park opens at 10am.  If you can make use of Early Ride Time this gives you an extra hour before Alton Towers opens to the public!  Today, we were in the park at 10am and made straight for the Forbidden Valley & away from the crowds.

2. Alton Towers Tips; Single Rider Queues

Make use of Single Rider Queues, at Alton Towers to to dramatically reduce your waiting times!  We went on Oblivion using the Single Rider Queue in less than half the time of the general queue time.  Did you know the Single Rider Queue is also the fastrack queue – why pay for a fastrack when you can gain the same benefit for FREE!

Sonic Spinball at Alton Towers

3. Alton Towers Tips; Go The Other Way!

Most people start with Sonic Spinball & then make their way round to Rita/Thirteen.  Buck the trend by starting with Nemesis/Air and leave Sonic Spinball to later in the day.  We walked straight onto Nemesis both times before completing the other rides at this park in 40 minutes.  Worth giving Air a skip as the queue capacity isn’t great and it does have a tendency to break down!

4. Alton Towers Tips; Home for Lunch?

OK, this isn’t achievable for everyone as we only live nearby!  However you can take a picnic to beat the food queues and save yourself some money too!

So in 2.5 hours during May half term we managed;

  • Nemesis, (twice)
  • Blade
  • Ripsaw
  • Oblivion
  • Sonic Spinball
