Can I Purchase a Merlin Pass in the Sale Online or by Phone?

Only if you have a valid Merlin Pass, (standard or premium) can you purchase online or by phone.  You have the choice of visiting any of the above visitor attractions OR buying online or by phone.

You can ring 08444 77 44 44 or visit the Merlin Pass site to renew your Merlin Pass.  Phone lines are open 9am – 5pm but subject to seasonal operating calendars

If I Renew My Merlin Pass Will I Be Able To Take Advantage of the Sale Price?

Yes, these Merlin Pass sale prices are available to you too.

If I Renew My Merlin Pass Now Will The Expiry Time Be Added To My Current Merlin Pass?

Yes, it would appear that time remaining on your current Merlin Pass, (standard or premium) will be added on to your new Merlin Pass.

However last year that was some confusion as to whether unexpired time on a current Merlin Pass can be transferred onto a Merlin Pass purchased in this deal and seemed to vary from attraction to attraction…must be worth double checking this one.

The Merlin Pass Offer

A standard Merlin Pass offers entry to over 40 plus visitor attractions around the UK including;

  • Alton Towers,
  • Thorpe Park
  • Legoland, Windsor
  • Chessington
  • Legoland Discovery Centre
  • London Eye
  • Blackpool Towers & many more…

Whilst standard Merlin Passes no longer receive free parking and there are some restrictions on use, (see below), this  Merlin Pass Sale offers value for money if you intend to visit a number of Merlin Attractions throughout the year.

It is also worth taking into account some of the passholder perks associated with the standard Merlin Pass that includes;

  • Up to 20% off food, drink & souvenirs
  • Early Ride Time at Alton Towers
  • Deals on photographic souvenirs
  • 20% off Alton Towers Waterpark

Remember restrictions on use with a standard Merlin Pass will include;

  • No access to London Eye, Madame Tussauds, London Dungeon & Sea Life London during August
  • No access to the London Eye on 14 February, 29-31 October
  • No access to Blackpool Tower 22-30 October
  • Passholder fee for Fright Nights at Thorpe Park

However if you discount the August restrictions, (& I wouldn’t fancy visiting some of these London Merlin Attraction in peak summer time anyway), there is plenty of choice for all the family and works out as great value for money.

How to Get the Most from this Merlin Pass Sale?

This Merlin Pass Sale is particularly cost effective if you take steps to reduce your spending on each visit rather than see them as a free day out!  Simple steps such as taking a picnic, investing in a Photo Pass & following our Tips to Beat the Queues will save you plenty of money throughout the year!

  1. Do you know if there are any vouchers to visit the Blackpool Tower Eye at the moment? I am going this weekend. Thanks

  2. I am a single parent, can I only buy individual passes because this is only £30 cheaper than a family of 3 or are there other options for a family of 2

    • Hi Sue, unfortunately there are no family of 2 Merlin Pass tickets available, (they offer plenty of other flexible family tickets so it’s a shame they haven’t offered a family of 2 option). As you say I think your best bet would be two individual passes.

  3. can you let me know how to get discounted merlin passes please

    Thank you

    Kim Jones

    • There are currently a couple of deals running on Merlin Passes. There are a limited number of standard Merlin Passes available through Tesco clubcard that have been discounted to £35 in vouchers. There is also a 25% Merlin Pass sale running in conjunction with Visit England. More details available at Merlin Pass Offers 2012.

  4. How do I go about getting the tickets for a family of 3 with the 25% discount and adding £35 pp to upgrade.

    • Hi Kelly, you can upgrade at the Merlin Attraction you choose to redeem your Merlin Pass at for an extra £35 per person. I know this deal relates to individual standard Merlin Passes & would be interested to learn whether this also works for family Merlin Passes too. Do let us know and we’ll pass it on to our readers. Cheers, Liz
